Thirty-five students on the Chelsea Football Club Foundation Coaching and Development Degree participated in an academy training observation at the Chelsea FC Cobham Training Ground last week.

During the session, the St Mary’s students had the chance to meet with Chelsea Academy senior staff, observe training across U9-12, and tour the Cobham facility.

The students in attendance were from across Level 4, Level 5 and Level 6.

Course Lead Alex Cattini said, “It was amazing to welcome so many of our students to Cobham to observe an academy training evening. The students found the visit both insightful and motivational, and made a great impression on senior staff. They were a credit to the programme and University. We appreciate the opportunity and the time that the Chelsea FC staff gave to engage with our students.”

The Chelsea Football Club Foundation Coaching and Development Degree allows students to develop an in-depth understanding of the football industry, with learning taking place at multiple locations, including St Mary’s University, Stamford Bridge, and the Chelsea FC Training Ground in Cobham.
