We are a cricket club for men and women who enjoy making the most of good weather by scoring runs, taking wickets, and having a good social and inclusive atmosphere.
We pride ourselves on being one of the most inclusive clubs at University, bringing together people of all abilities, experiences, and backgrounds. As a committee we take your aims and what you want to get out of the club into account with how we run the club resulting in a very open and member-focused environment.
As sociable as we are, competition is still very important to us and so whilst we enjoy our socials and casual meet ups etc, putting in the effort in training is expected so that we can perform at our best on the field and earn the refreshments afterwards. We net twice a week to work on our skills and compete in the national indoor competition before the outdoor season kicks off in May.
The committee this year is led by Hamish Bull, a 3rd year Sports Science student who has been a member of the club for two years and was Club Coordinator for the club last season. Hamish’s ‘right-hand’ this year is Freddie Nehls, a 3rd year …… who has competed for more clubs at university than he has career runs and will be an excellent addition to the committee. An energetic character who will look after all cricketers alike. Our Event secretaries this year are Joss Bell and Billy Hulks, both keen golfers with a batting technique to fit. However, with many ideas for charity events and a great enthusiasm for the club’s extra-curricular activities, the club’s social activities are in good hands.
