Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to work on consultancy projects and independent research, enabling you to apply your knowledge in real-world business contexts.

Put knowledge into practice with a placement year

The optional placement year gives you the opportunity to spend 9–12 months working full-time in an accounting, finance, or related business role between your second and final year. This immersive experience allows you to apply your academic learning in a real professional context, gain industry experience, and build a network of contacts.

You’ll develop professional resilience, commercial awareness, and a deeper understanding of workplace expectations. The placement year enhances employability and can provide a strong advantage when entering graduate-level employment in the financial and business sectors.

Assessment methods

Our assessments equip you with the skills you will need for employment success. And they're not all assignments and reports. You will also:

  • lead in case study analyses and simulations
  • present and collaborate in group projects
  • conduct independent research or consultancy projects.

UCAS points

Applicants should have GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above, or evidence of numerical proficiency.

We understand that sometimes barriers you can't control get in the way of academic achievement. You are more than just your grades. We'll consider your application as a whole, taking into account things like:

  • subjects studied at Level 3
  • your GCSEs (or equivalent) profile
  • non-academic achievements you mention in your personal statement
  • your references and motivation.

International requirements

International students should check our country-specific pages for equivalents. If English is not your first language you will need to achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in any section (or equivalent).
