Who can apply through Clearing?

You will be eligible to apply through Clearing if you meet one of the following criteria:

You didn't meet the entry requirements for your chosen universities on UCAS

If you missed your grades you will have been automatically entered into Clearing and your Track status will say ‘You are in Clearing’ or ‘Clearing has started’, this is also where you will find your Clearing Number.

You have not applied to university yet

If you have yet to apply to university on UCAS or directly through a university you are not too late; in fact you have two options.

  1. Full application
  2. Apply directly

You didn’t receive any offers on UCAS

You will have automatically be entered into Clearing on A-level results day and your Track status will say ‘You are in Clearing’ or ‘Clearing has started’, this is also where you will find your Clearing Number.

You have a place through UCAS but want to swap to St Mary’s

Ring your chosen first and insurance place universities and ask them to release you, so you can enter Clearing.
