Why study Business Management with Business Ethics?

How a business conducts itself has become a hot topic. The fallout from and the blame for the credit crunch has been extensively debated. In addition, there have been many news stories of corporate, banking and motor industry misbehaviour and situations where the actions of companies have resulted in severe environmental damage.

More than ever, businesses have an ethical duty to employees, customers, shareholders and wider society to act responsibly. However, the pressure on managers to produce results and profits are often extreme and can lead to businesses failing in their ethical responsibilities. Businesses need managers who understand the many factors that create ethical pressures, and how to deal with them in ways that meet the needs of everyone.

This degree will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to understand the role of ethics and importance of ethical behaviour within companies in private, public or charitable sectors, at home or abroad. It builds on contemporary ethical management skills and approaches to give you everything required for your first management job in a values-based organisation and success in your chosen career.
