Biography

Nick leads the primary care and community components of the MBBS curriculum, overseeing both campus-based learning and clinical placements across a range of community settings, including GP practices, community clinics, pharmacies, hospices, and care homes.

Biography 

GP Partner since 2009 at Holmwood Corner Surgery, a highly regarded and innovative practice in Kingston-upon-Thames.

Clinical Director (CEO) of New Malden & Worcester Park Primary Care Network and GP Federation Director. Key achievements include:

  • leading covid-19 vaccine programme
  • social prescribing community hub
  • carer clinical liaison service
  • population health outreach - Korean and Tamil communities, liver screening programme, MMR catch up, menopause clinic, mental health and diabetes events
  • founded national CQC advisory consultancy.

Deputy Clinical Director in the South West London ICS:

  • Proactive Anticipatory Care model successfully rolled out, winning UK Parliamentary Award
  • Lead for neighbourhood health for Kingston and Richmond under NHS 10 Year Plan.

Thought leadership for health and care as regular advisor to pharmaceutical industry, regional and national healthcare policymakers and regular speaker at healthcare conferences. On a taskforce for primary care development for previous government.

Hobbies and interests

Outside of work, Nick enjoys keeping busy and has a wide range of interests, including playing the violin with the Richmond Orchestra, being an active member of her local church, travelling, and reading fiction. He is also a proud parent of two teenage children, for whom he regularly takes on the roles of taxi driver, exam supporter, and chef.

Teaching and research

Supervision of GPs in the latter stages of their postgraduate training within the Royal College of GPs, giving weekly small group tutorials and mentoring them through exams.

Lead for primary care postgraduate training and development across Kingston and Richmond, which includes organising and chairing a six monthly clinical conference for clinical and non-clinical staff.

Founding an undergraduate placement programme within primary care for nursing, physio, pharmacy and medical students in Kingston borough.

Director on South West London Training Hub board, representing Kingston.
