Biography
Pietro is Senior Lecturer and Course Lead for the PGCE Secondary Mathematics Course. He contributes to the SMU ECT Exchange Programme and also leads some of the Maths Collaborative Network Events as well as representing the University at the Maths Scholarship Open Evenings. Pietro is a highly experienced Mathematics educator with a career spanning over 40 years in Catholic comprehensive schools, being Head of House and a Department Lead, as well as experience as a Teacher Governor.
He has also worked for a major Awarding Body, devising and delivering national and international CPD training courses, as well as writing some of the GCSE and A Level Maths Schemes of Work. After graduating from London University, Pietro studied for his PGCE Mathematics with Special Educational Needs at St Mary’s, so he has now returned ‘home’ to where his teaching career began over four decades ago.
