Rebekah Ohene

Biography

Rebekah is a Lecturer in Medical Education and a qualified Physician Associate, with a particular focus on clinical skills, communication skills, and interprofessional education. She has a strong clinical background in general practice and extensive experience supporting the education and professional development of both physician associate and medical students.

In addition to her Physician Associate qualification, she has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education at the University of Sussex. Prior to her current role, she worked at Brighton & Sussex Medical School on the Masters in Physician Associate Studies programme, where she served as Module Lead for Clinical Skills and Personal Tutor Lead, contributing to curriculum delivery, student support, and assessment.

Rebekah is also a chapter author in the book Quick Guide: Navigating Clinical Investigations in Primary Care, a practical resource for allied health professionals working in primary care settings.

Her primary research interests are clinical communication and interprofessional education, particularly the use of holistic approaches within multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care and healthcare outcomes. She is interested in how interpersonal skills, empathy, collaborative practice, and effective communication can enhance patient-centred care and strengthen the delivery of healthcare across professional boundaries.

Alongside her academic duties, Rebekah is also a qualified massage therapist, specialising in Swedish massage.
