Working with the Community
St Mary's University, Twickenham's new corporate plan, Vision 2025, outlines objectives to develop research and enterprise, and boost engagement locally, nationally, and internationally.
Built around St Mary's core values of inclusiveness, generosity of spirit, respect, and excellence, Vision 2025 is rooted in people and place. The plan outlines five strategies; Education, Engagement, International, Research and Enterprise, and Student Recruitment, so that in 2025 St Mary's will be known globally for the quality of its diverse, inclusive and enabling academic environment.
Through the engagement strategy St Mary's aims to take an active role in the public square, leading the debate on key issues and helping to shape public policy, giving the local community a University they can proud of. The University will also open a new Employability Hub to develop workplace learning and careers. The hub will work closely with the local community to build partnerships and enable students to further support and work with local businesses.
The Research and Enterprise strategy will also work closely with the local community. The strategy will engage with local business and industry through services provided by St Mary's specialist staff, increasing knowledge exchange, building research impact, and helping the local community to grow and diversify.
