Acting audition information

All applicants for our BA (Hons) Acting programme are required to attend an audition on campus.

Applicants who are currently living overseas and will not be able to attend in person should contact Admissions at apply@stmarys.ac.uk and we will provide information on how to submit a digital audition.

First, you need to log in to our student applicant portal.

Your username is your student ID and your initial password is your date of birth in the format DDMMYYYY.

Select the ‘my application’ tab and then select the button labelled ‘book interview’ and then choose your preferred date and time.

Auditions will be held on the following dates:

  • 20th January
  • 3rd February
  • 24th February

Further dates may be available but cannot be guaranteed at this stage. As places are limited on this programme we would advise you book for as early a date as possible.

Start Time: 9:45am arrival for 10am start.

  • End Time: 2pm (approximately).
  • Where: Main Reception, St Mary’s University, Waldegrave Road, Twickenham TW1 4SX.
  • Dress code: clothes suitable for practical workshops such as joggers, leggings, and flat shoes.
  • What to bring: one passport size photo of yourself.

There may be availability to park on campus in the bays marked D. These can be paid for using the JustPark app.

View information about how to get to the campus.

Blue Badge holders will need to contact the St Mary’s University Reception team at reception@stmarys.ac.uk to reserve a Disabled Parking space in advance of the interview date.

You will be asked to perform a two-minute monologue from a play of your choosing (classical or contemporary but not a film or television script) and be interviewed about your interest in the course and your possible routes for development beyond graduation. There are also opportunities on these days to take part in a group workshop, meet the whole academic team and other students already on the programme, and to tour the facilities.

Please also think about the physical side of your performance. This is especially true for international applicants providing digital auditions. Please avoid delivering your audition from a static stance as we would like the audition performance to have a physical quality. Feel free to move around the space and to show how you can physically embody the role. This will give you the best chance to demonstrate your acting to us.
