About Research

Biography

Andrea is a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Lead for Clinical and Professional Practice (CPP), a longitudinal module spanning all five years of the MBBS programme. CPP supports students in developing the communication, practical and professional skills required for safe and effective clinical practice, progressing from foundational learning in the early years to workplace-based learning and assessment, evidence-based practice, and preparation for Foundation training.

Andrea trained in medicine at Cambridge University and Bart's and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Andrea has been a consultant paediatrician at Kingston Hospital for 20 years. Her main clinical interests are general paediatrics, neonatal medicine and metabolic medicine. She has held various education and leadership roles at Kingston including RCPCH College Tutor, Clinical Lead for Paediatrics and Neonatology and recently Clinical Director of Women's and Children's Services.

Outside work, Andrea is happiest creating something from scratch—whether cooking, baking or sewing. She is also an avid reader and enjoys learning languages, currently Portuguese.
