Hugh Woozencroft is one of our most high profile alumni working in the media today. He is a highly respected broadcast journalist, currently hosting his own show on TalkSport, three nights a week. While studying at St Mary's, Hugh secured work as a Broadcast Assistant on BBC Radio 5Live's flagship programme 'Sportsweek' before joining the BBC 5Live Sport team in the same role. He went on to present the sports news on the Victoria Derbyshire Show and across the BBC.

Hugh has also presented for Premier League Productions, Sky News and Sky Sports News. In 2019, he became the primetime presenter on TalkSport’s Kick Off Show.

Throughout his career, Hugh has been a long-standing advocate of change in sport and the sports media. Hugh sits on the board of the Black Collective of Media in Sport (BCOMS) that actively works to develop opportunities for Black, Asian and other ethnic minorities keen break into the sports media. He has mediated and participated in a number of live panels and tours including 'The 1xtra Live Tour', 'The BBC Bitesize Tour' and chaired panels for the BBC's Diversity and Inclusion Summit. He has also hosted a Black Lives Matter panel event with world boxing champion Anthony Joshua.
