Biography

Jason teaches within the School of Medicine, with a focus on integrated and applied science, clinical medicine, and clinical skills. He is actively involved in curriculum development, particularly for anatomy and pharmacology. Jason has recent clinical experience as a resident doctor at a large tertiary hospital in Aberdeen, Scotland, where he also served as an Honorary Associate of the School of Medicine and a Year 1 Student Selected Component (SSC) tutor.

In addition to his medical qualification, Jason holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical and Healthcare Education from Anglia Ruskin University, an intercalated degree in Cardiovascular and Diabetes Medicine from the University of Dundee, and a Diploma in MSK Medicine from the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine.

Prior to his current role, Jason worked at the University of St Andrews School of Medicine across all three medical courses offered there. His primary responsibilities included delivering small-group tutorials in anatomy, clinical skills, and communication skills. He also contributed broadly to medical education through assessment teams and by delivering postgraduate training to anaesthetics and emergency medicine trainees. Additionally, Jason has recently become a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators.
