Biography
John is the Course Lead for the BA in Creative Production.
John has spent the last thirty years working across a variety of design and production roles in the Theatre and Live Event Industry.
Skills honed in the creative firmament of the Battersea Arts Centre led to an early career in Production Management, Small Scale Touring and Lighting Design throughout the UK.
In the early noughties, John allied himself to the emerging worlds of digital video, motion graphics and VJ'ing before setting up "colour-project.com" to specialize in Architectural Video Mapping and Digital Story Telling.
The Colour Project continues to create Light Trails and Video Mapping shows across the UK and beyond. As cofounder and Creative Director, notable achievements have included:
Video mapping the Bolshoi Ballet and representing the UK at Moscow International Festival "The Circle of Light"
Winning a Silver Medal at the Chelsea Flower Show for "The Butterfly Effect" an immersive eco-educational project and the first ever medal winning show with no flowers!
Creating an immense 30 minute Video Mapped show on "The Three Graces" across the world famous Liverpool Waterfront to celebrate 175 Years of Cunard's relationship with the city.
Outside of College and his ongoing design work, John enjoys cycling, bushcraft and providing lighting and technical support to various local Youth Bands across the borough.
