Biography

Robin J Birn, Senior Lecturer in Marketing
FMRS; Life Member and Life Fellow CIM; MCIPR

Robin J Birn is an experienced marketing and sales, market research and consumer insight professional, trainer and academic. He is author of several books on market research, customer insight and marketing services. His specialist skills include training, facilitating, and coaching in business strategy, marketing planning, campaign planning and developing propositions using consumer insight.

Robin has worked in the marketing services sector since 1976, consulting and training marketers in major global brands and SMEs, to develop new skills in marketing and communications and intercultural competence. He is currently Senior Lecturer in Marketing, at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, lecturing Business Management, and Communication and Marketing Undergraduates. Robin lectures and consults SMU Business Clinic clients and partners.

Robin is a benefactor of The Archive of Market and Social Research, a former Vice Chairman and Fellow of the Market Research Society, Life Fellow and Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, and a Freeman of the City of London.

Robin was born in London and is a British/American dual national with global marketing and communications experience.
