Ryan graduated from the University of Greenwich with a BSc (Hons) and MSc in Sports Science specialising in sports biomechanics. In 2013 Ryan completed his PhD “Biomechanics of the paediatric foot and lower limb: associations with adiposity” from the University of East London. Following his PhD completion Ryan was awarded funding as the principle investigator to study physical function, activity, muscle strength and gait in children with obesity which is currently on-going at St Mary’s University.
Ryan has experience of lecturing in biomechanics across sport and health undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Furthermore, he has supervised masters and PhD students to completion in areas of gait analysis and rowing economy. With interests in 3D motion capture, lower limb kinematics and kinetic assessments and gait analysis, Ryan is keen on applying these interests across sport performance as well as healthy/pathological related areas.
