Biography

Sophie works at St Mary’s delivering teaching in film design, post-production, and visual effects. Her role involves working with the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly after effects, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro, as well as other relevant industry software. She teaches and supports student projects in VFX, motion graphics, and digital design, bringing expertise in AI, XR, virtual production, and related emerging technologies.

Sophie is an all-round creative and producer who has worked with some of the UK’s leading media companies, including Discovery Channel, the BBC, and Condé Nast. She is an award-winning filmmaker, having received recognition for her documentary short THE FERRYMAN, which explores the last running ferry on the River Thames.

In addition to her screen work, Sophie is a trained artist and designer who has exhibited her work across London. Her multifaceted creative practice blends traditional art techniques such as drawing, painting, and printmaking, with digital methods including film, animation, sound, and motion design.

Outside of work, Sophie has a strong passion for art, film, design, and animation. She enjoys exploring antique shops and markets, often seeking inspiration from unique and historical objects.

She is also active in sports, playing netball, and for the past few years has taken part in a charity pantomime, reflecting her enthusiasm for performance and community engagement.
