Equal opportunities statement

We are committed to promoting equality of access and treatment in education, employment, training and guidance, regardless of social background, disability, age, gender, gender identity, race, religion, criminal convictions and sexual orientation. We are a driving force for inclusion within the university and with the organisations with which we work and have representatives on a number of inclusion networks within and outside of St Mary’s including the BAME network, the Disability Confident working group and the ISE Diversity and Inclusion Working Group.

Any form of discrimination or unequal treatment and unethical behaviour will be challenged and all our service delivery will support the highest standards of diversity and inclusion. We comply fully with the St Mary’s University Equality and Diversity Policy and Code of Practice

We will partner with organisations that serve to promote inclusion in the workplace and provide inclusive opportunities for our students and graduates. Furthermore, we reserve the right to refuse approval to any vacancy/organisation that does not align with St Mary’s Values of Inclusiveness, Generosity of Spirit, Respect and Excellence.

As a member of the Careers Group University of London, we also abide with their Employer Code of Practice and terms and conditions for use of the vacancies site for the publication of vacancies.


Confidentiality statement

We treat all interactions with individuals as confidential, and never make public data or feedback which could identify individuals. We comply fully with the  of St Mary’s Data protection policy and the Data Protection Policies University of London.

Wage policy for vacancies

We will advertise positions that comply with National Minimum Wage. We will not advertise unpaid internships as we want students to be able to be paid fairly for their work and to be able to access opportunities on merit, rather than affordability.

St Mary’s University and the Careers Group, University of London make every effort to ensure organisations listed in our information websites, emails, noticeboards and publications are bonafide and reserve the right not to approve vacancies on this basis. 

We are unable to individually verify the details of vacancies posted to CareerConnect and cannot guarantee their accuracy. If you have any issues regarding any vacancies posted, please contact us on careers@stmarys.ac.uk.  

We will remove any vacancies where it can be demonstrated that the organisation involved is in contravention of UK law or does not align with the St Mary’s values as articulated above.
