SMILE FAQs

To mark the launch of St Mary's first LMS, the L&PD team hosted a competition in February 2024, where staff had a chance to compete for two prizes, including:

  1. highest percentage of staff within an SLT area having completed at least one Essential Training lesson
  2. 100% of staff within a department completing at least one Essential Training lesson.

After one month of fierce competition, the results were:

Competition one

  • Richard Solomon, Chief Financial Officer: 21% of staff completing at least one Essential Training lesson.
  • Jo Blunden, Chief Operations Officer: 50% of staff completing at least one Essential Training lesson.
  • Symeon Dagkas, Provost: 31% of staff completing at least one Essential Training lesson.

Winner: Jo Blunden, Chief Operations Officer

Competition two

As Human Resources was the only team where 100% of staff completed at least one Essential Training lesson, the L&PD team thought it only fair to instead draw six winners from everyone who completed all six Essential Training lessons.

The six winners were:

  • Violeta Kotsevska - Estates and Campus Services
  • Matthew Dell - School of Education
  • Righteous Mbemba - Estates and Campus Services
  • Mark Fry - Estates and Campus Services
  • Jade Salim - School of Sport, Exercise and Applied Sciences
  • Jacob Johanssen - School of Business and Communication.
    Congratulations to the winners!
