Study at St Mary's

A degree at St Mary’s is about much more than the course you study; our community approach looks to support you on a personal level. Below is a list of our course categories:

Undergraduate academic requirements

Applicants with the General Secondary Education Certificate are required to complete an International Foundation programme, IB or A Levels prior to being admitted to an undergraduate course at St Mary's University.

Students who have successfully completed the first year at a recognised university or an Associate Degree/Undergraduate Diploma may be exempt from taking the International Foundation programme.

Postgraduate academic requirements

A four year honours degree from a recognised Saudi Arabian university.

2:1 equivalent

  • Saudi Arabian degree (grade point average, 5.0): 3.5

2:2 equivalent

  • Saudi Arabian degree (grade point average, 5.0): 3.0

English language requirements

If English is not your first language you will be required to evidence your English language ability required for academic study. Please see our English Language Requirements page for our standard entry requirements.

Tuition fees

Please note:tuition fees do not include accommodation.


We offer scholarships to both undergraduate and postgraduate students:

  • Undergraduate: £3,000 off your first year’s tuition fees.
  • Postgraduate (taught): £1,500 off your first year’s tuition fees.

Open days and campus tours

If you're able to visit London, attending an open day is a fantastic opportunity to get an insight into what life is like as a St Mary's student. If you can't make it to an Open Day, we run campus tours every Wednesday at 12pm.

Living on campus

You are welcomed as a member of our thriving Students' Union as soon as you arrive at St Mary's and there are lots of opportunities to get involved.

St Mary’s is one of London’s top-performing sports institutions. Sport St Mary's provides students with state-of-the-art sports facilities equipped to world-class standards, as well as funding opportunities for high performance athletes.

Whether you’re interested in pursuing a degree in sport or joining one of St Mary’s sports clubs, you will find all the sports facilities and quality training that you need to get involved and keep healthy and active.

Local area

London has a long-standing Arab community and there are many organisations that bring the community together through social events, sports and cultural activities. The Arab British Centre promotes cultural and artistic events relating to the Arab world, and host a regular programme of activities as well as hosting an art collection and specialised library.

The Saudi-British Society brings together British citizens who have an interest in Saudi Arabia and Saudi Arabians living in the UK.

The Islamic Society of Britain is a community based charity which organises events and activities which aim to combine Muslim and British cultures. London caters for members of nearly all faiths, and celebrates all of the major religious festivals, including Eid. It is home to one of the largest mosques in Western Europe, the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, South London. You can also find a wide range of Middle Eastern restaurants and food shops in and around London.
