St Mary's has a lively and diverse student community, with students from over 100 countries outside the UK representing approximately 10% of its 6,000 students.

A degree at St Mary’s is about much more than the course you study; our community approach looks to support you on a personal level. Below is a list of our course categories:

Undergraduate academic requirements

Applicants who have completed a High School Diploma with a GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 will be considered for undergraduate entry if they also have one of the following:

  • SAT 1050
  • ACT composite: 22
  • Two APs at 3 in relevant subjects
  • International Baccalaureate: 28
  • An Associate Degree with a GPA of 3.0

Students should send SAT scores through our College Board number 7949.

We are an official ACT test agency. Our testing code for students to send their scores to is 7060.

Postgraduate academic requirements

Bachelor degree from a recognised US higher education institution.

2:1 equivalent

  • US degree (grade point average, 4.0): 3.0

English language requirements

If English is not your first language you will be required to evidence your English language ability required for academic study. Please see our English Language Requirements page for our standard entry requirements.

Tuition fees

Please note:tuition fees do not include accommodation.

Financial information

St Mary’s University, Twickenham participates in the William D Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. Federal Direct Loans are low-interest loans to help undergraduate and graduate students pay for their education. 

Private loans may provide an alternative means of funding if you cannot cover your entire study and living costs with federal loans or you don’t qualify for federal loans. 

Scholarships

We offer scholarships to both undergraduate and postgraduate students:

  • Undergraduate: £3,000 off your first year’s tuition fees.
  • Postgraduate (taught): £1,500 off your first year’s tuition fees.

Open days and campus tours

If you're able to visit London, attending an open day is a fantastic opportunity to get an insight into what life is like as a St Mary's student. If you can't make it to an Open Day, we run campus tours every Wednesday at 12pm.

The Students' Union

You are welcomed as a member of our thriving Students' Union as soon as you arrive at St Mary's and there are lots of opportunities to get involved.

There is a wide range of societies clubs and societies for you to join and a full list can be found within the Students' Union section.

Sport

St Mary’s is one of London’s top-performing sports institutions. Sport St Mary's provides students with state-of-the-art sports facilities equipped to world-class standards, as well as funding opportunities for high performance athletes.

Whether you’re interested in pursuing a degree in sport or joining one of St Mary’s sports clubs, you will find all the sports facilities and quality training that you need to get involved and keep healthy and active.

Local area

There is a large, vibrant community of Americans in and around London, with over 50,000 people living, working and studying here and there are many organisations that bring together the members of the community through social events, sports and cultural activities.

You can find a variety of American social groups on MeetUp and the American Hour website lists a number of US Expat Clubs both in London and around the UK.

The American Food Store in Notting Hill and Panzer's store in St Johns Wood are two of the most famous American grocery stores in London and Whole Foods Market also have several stores in London where you can purchase American food products.

You can also find a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops with cuisine from all over the globe locally and in central London, including many American restaurants where you can find traditional dishes from all over the USA.
