The Faculty of Sport, Technology and Health Sciences (FSTHS) at St Mary’s University, London recently invited twenty students and five staff members from the Kinetic Foundation for an immersive day.

The Kinetic Foundation is a London-based football and education charity that helps young people from widening participation backgrounds to stay in education through their passion for football.

The students, aged between 16-19, provided insight into university life and what undergraduate courses are on offer within the Faculty. This included a visit to the Teddington Lock campus and sports pitches, where the students took part in a training session with the academic team.

After lunch, the group then went on a tour of the main St Mary’s campus before regrouping to hear more about the different courses and study options that the University offers within the fields of sports, health sciences and technology.

Alex Cattini, Lecturer in Football Development & Coaching, said, “This was an excellent opportunity to welcome the Kinetic Foundation to St Mary’s. We wanted to give their students an experience of life at the University, and how it would feel to study with us on one of our degrees. Their staff were extremely grateful for the opportunity and enjoyed visiting campus. We want to continue to showcase St Mary’s to prospective students and highlight the pathways that they can take beyond school or further education."
