St Mary’s University, London welcomes the installation of Archbishop Richard Moth as the 12th Archbishop of Westminster.

Archbishop Richard, who been Chair of Governor’s at St Mary’s University since 2011, was installed as Archbishop in a Mass in Westminster Cathedral, on the feast of Saints Cyril and Methodius. He succeeds Cardinal Vincent Nichols, who is Chancellor of St Mary’s.

Speaking of the Installation, St Mary’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Anthony McClaran said, “It was a great joy and honour to represent the University during the installation celebrations in Westminster on Saturday. Archbishop Richard’s longstanding support for Catholic education has been felt across the University community, and staff and students across St Mary’s will join me in welcoming his installation as the new Archbishop of our Diocese.

“Archbishop Richard’s many contributions to the University have been greatly valued. He has provided steady leadership, sound judgement, and a deep understanding of the University’s mission and purpose. We look forward to continuing to work closely with him in his new role and supporting his priorities as Archbishop.”
