At St Mary’s Women’s Hockey club, we are an all-inclusive team and group of close friends. Our team is full of people from all backgrounds and all different abilities, meaning we're able to help each individual thrive and succeed.
We are very proud of each team player regardless of their ability. We celebrate each success whether that is county, English Universities representation, or being able to hold the stick with correct form.
We take pride on how welcoming and friendly our girls are and on and off the pitch. Speaking on behalf of the committee, I can confirm that we are there to support all of our teammates with any problems - related to hockey or not.
We encourage participation especially at training but also at hockey socials. We partake in a BUCS league and cup and with us winning the league in the 2021/22. This season, we aspire to win the league again and make it further in the cup.
We train twice a week and will occasionally have organised gym sessions to keep our fitness up to date. We have a lot of exciting things to look forward to this year including:
- a sports dinner
- varsity
- charity events
- lots of fun socials
- sponsorships.
