SIMMSactive is our student-led, low-cost, recreational sport and activity programme. All sessions are accessible to all students, regardless of ability or experience!
Our 2021/22 schedule is now available! No bookings are required at sessions, just turn up a couple of minutes before. Why not bring your friends, flatmates or coursemates along?!
- 10am: Weekly fitness session
- 6pm: Basketball (Performance Hall)
- 6pm: Tennis and badminton (Tennis Hall)
- 6pm: No ordinary sports (Performance Hall)
- 4pm: Weekly fitness sessions
Our recreational basketball is for those looking to play either socially or non-competitively.
We are offering netball for those that don’t wish to compete and want to play socially.
Tennis and badminton
Our SIMMSactive racket sport session allows you to play both tennis and badminton, these sessions are aimed to increase participation in both sports providing opportunity to gain entry level understanding to the sports.
Weekly fitness sessions
Our brand new Les Mills fitness sessions are delivered on demand virtually, the SIMMSactive fitness sessions allow you to join in free fitness classes for beginners.
No ordinary sports
In association with our No Ordinary Society we offer adapted sport and physical activities such as sitting volleyball, boccia, ultimate frisbee, yoga and kick-boxing. We have recently been awarded over £4,000 to purchase new equipment to improve these sessions!
Throughout the year we will also be organising a range of trips to external facilities with the aim of promoting an active lifestyle whilst also increasing participation in sports you may not otherwise get the chance to partake in. Keep an eye on our Instagram for more information on our trips.
Simmies Challenges is our new programme that utilises digital technology to facilitate your activity and challenge you against other Simmies!
