Counselling Referral Form

We want you to enjoy your time at University and our Counselling Service is here to support you with whatever emotional difficulties you are going through.

Our team of professional and qualified counsellors provide a safe and confidential space for you to talk about your life and to support you with whatever you are experiencing. Counselling gives you the opportunity to focus on your feelings and reflect and understand why you feel the way you do, empowering you to find solutions and enhance your enjoyment of life.

All of St Mary’s counsellors are fully qualified and registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to the BACP’s Ethical Framework, so you can be assured of a professional, safe, and non-judgemental environment that is attuned to your needs.

Making an appointment

All St Mary's students have access to Togetherall, a free and condifential online peer support platform which includes a number of short self-help courses and articles.

Confidentiality

Student Services offer a confidential service for all Students.

Any information that a student discloses to a member of staff from one of the individual support teams will remain confidential to that team.

Issues may be discussed with other team members if necessary, but with no-one else without the explicit consent of the student concerned, unless we believe that harm has or might occur to the student or others. More information can be found within our Confidentiality Statement.
