Welcome to Your St Mary's
Your St Mary's is a source of practical information about St Mary's University for residents and organisations in the London Borough of Richmond.
During the nine decades St Mary's has been based at Strawberry Hill, its contributions to the local community have been numerous, including education, employment, training and community-focused events. Working closely with local residents and organisations, we intend to continue enriching the local community for years to come.
The Your St Mary's pages are intended to keep you informed about St Mary's events and issues that affect you. You can also discover how you can benefit from having a first rate university on your doorstep, and we look forward to welcoming you to St Mary's.
Vision 2025 in the local community
We recently published our vision for St Mary's University, Twickenham over the next ten years. The vision outlines plans to enhance our contribution to the local community alongside growing our students numbers sustainably to ensure the future financial viability of the University.
We are proud of our role in Strawberry Hill and the wider Richmond Borough; we are one of the largest employers in the area, we support local businesses and community organisations, our campus is open for a wide variety of cultural activities, and our sports facilities are widely used by the local people.
St Mary's is developing a Masterplan for our campuses at Strawberry Hill and Teddington Lock. This will help us accommodate the planned measured growth in student numbers and academic activity, whilst ensuring we manage our environment effectively and become more accessible to the local community.
We have agreed with the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames that we will develop a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for the St Mary's estate. The SPD will guide our development plans over the next decade, alongside the Council's Village Plan for Strawberry Hill.
Richmond Council are hosting their Village Planning event in Strawberry Hill on 25th February 2017 and asked us to join the event to present outline ideas for our SPD for the St Mary's estate, alongside the Council's SPD for Strawberry Hill. Our masterplanning consultants will attend the event to present their work over the past two years, and invite input and feedback.
Further detail will be made available through this website, alongside the event questionnaire.
We welcome feedback over the next few weeks in advance of an open public event on our SPD which we will host the Strawberry Hill campus in April 2017.
