We welcome students with a wide range of educational experience and qualifications.

The webpage for each undergraduate degree will tell you how many UCAS points are required as well as any additional requirements - such as an interview or specific subject qualifications.

112 points

A Levels

Minimum of 112 points of which 80 must include at least two B grades including any specific subjects mentioned on the course pages. Remaining points can be made up of A Level and AS Grades including General Studies.

Equivalent qualifications (112 points)
  • BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM
  • BTEC Diploma: D*D*
  • OCR National Extended Diploma: M2
  • Access Courses: PASS
  • Irish Highers and Scottish Highers: BBBB
  • Scottish Advanced Highers: CCD
  • International Baccalaureate: 28 POINTS 
  • DIP in Childcare: B

104 points

A Levels

Minimum of 104 points of which 72 must include at least a B and a C grade including any specific subjects mentioned on the course pages. Remaining points can be made up of A Level and AS Grades including General Studies.

Equivalent qualifications (104 points)
  • BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM (additional requirements for Sport Rehabilitation)
  • BTEC Diploma: D*D* (additional requirements for Sport Rehabilitation)
  • OCR National Extended Diploma: M2  (additional requirements for Sport Rehabilitation)
  • Access Courses: PASS
  • Irish Highers and Scottish Highers: BBBC
  • Scottish Advanced Highers: CCD
  • International Baccalaureate: 28 POINTS 
  • DIP in Childcare: C

96 points

A Levels

Minimum of 96 points of which 64 must include at least two C grades including any specific subjects mentioned on the programme pages. Remaining points can be made up of A Level and AS Grades including General Studies.

  • BTEC Extended Diploma: MMM
  • BTEC Diploma: DD
  • OCR National Extended Diploma: M3
  • Access Courses: PASS
  • Irish Highers and Scottish Highers: BBCC
  • Scottish Advanced Highers: DDD
  • International Baccalaureate: 28 POINTS 
  • DIP in Childcare: C

GCSEs and other qualifications or awards

  • Consideration maybe given to extended projects and Higher Sports Leaders Awards for borderline cases
  • For GCSEs, the pass grades are A, B and C
  • For Ordinary Level examinations taken after 1975, the pass grades are also A, B and C
  • A pass at Grade 1 in the CSE will be accepted on the same basis as a pass at Ordinary Level
  • We welcome the Advanced Diploma and will offer on the same points as A levels with Additional and Specialist Learning requirements as stated on programme pages

Our undergraduate degrees with a foundation are are an alternative entry route into university for those without more traditional qualifications or grades, or  are entering university after a notable period of time out of education.
