Understanding and working with pupils with a sensory impairment

St Mary’s University School of Education is delighted to offer a brand new CPD course for teachers wanting to better understand and support learners with sensory impairments.

The course aims to enhance understanding of how to effectively support learners with sensory impairments. Drawing on the tutor's experience as a QTVI (qualified teacher of the visually impaired), this session will consider some of the issues that may affect pupils with a hearing or visual impairment for both their academic and social development. The session will look at ways that pedagogy and resources can be adapted through real-life examples of resources and teaching activities. This course is run by Dr Clare Martin, Senior Lecturer at St Mary's University.

The School of Education offers longstanding excellence in professional learning, which is affirmed by our reputation for education degrees, active research centres, and 'outstanding' delivery of initial teacher education.
