Our drama research includes Irish theatre, costume and scenic design, contemporary theatre, physical and immersive theatre, verbatim theatre, international theatre directing, and the study of voice.

English has textual editing and cultural historical research strengths in eighteenth century and romantic period literature and culture. The Centre for Joseph Conrad Studies is a focus of international research into the life and works of the greatest English writers. On the language side, there is expertise in applied linguistics especially second language learning.

Our creative writing academics are contemporary novelists with a range of interests in how the novel connects to recent history and contemporary American literature.
