Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Refugee Week, 19th-25th June 2023

Refugee Week has arrived once more, running from June 19th to 25th 2023 and celebrating its 25th anniversary. The vision of Refugee Week revolves around creating inclusive and resilient communities where refugees and asylum seekers can reside securely.

The focal theme for this year's event is ‘compassion’, which holds particular significance given the current government's push for yet another severe anti-refugee bill. This bill poses an increasing threat to refugee rights, coupled with inhumane conditions endured by asylum seekers. Under these circumstances, compassion becomes even more crucial than ever before. Join us in cultivating a collective understanding of compassion and showing how arts and culture can play a pivotal role in expanding our circles of compassion.
