How to import the Moodle template into new modules

 

moodle logoWe recommend that you add the new Module Template to your module pages. This will save you time and effort while editing your module, and provide a good structure to support your students in their learning journey. This new template includes step-by-step guidance and advice for module Convenors and Lecturers.

Step-by-step guidance and advice for Module Convenors and Lecturers

You will need to self enrol on this page so that you can import sections from it into other module pages.To self- enrol:

1. Type 23MT into the search box at the bottom of the Moodle homepage.

 2. Click on the title of the page and once it opens cllick on Enrol me

To import the template into your blank module site:

1. Go to your blank 2023-24 module page on Moodle.

2. Click the cog in the top right hand corner to bring up the course administration menu.

3. Click Import from the Course administration menu.

4. Type into the Search box 23MT (the module you wish to import from). Please make sure you have followed the instructions above to self-enrol beforehand, otherwise you will not be able to find the module at this stage. Click Search.

5. Select the module by ticking the radio button on the left and click Continue

6. Click Next on the next screen. You should not need to change any of these settings.

7. You now have a list of every activity or item in the module. Click Next at the bottom of the page, as you need all this content. 

8  You now have the opportunity to review the contents selected for import. Click Perform Import at the bottom of the page.

9. You should then see this screen. Click Continue.

You will now be back in the 23/24 module, and your selected content will have been imported.

NB: You should always import the template BEFORE you import any content from the previous year's module.
