AV Hardware and Software Tutorials

We offer a call-out service for any emergency issues you might have in a teaching space, but in order to try and ensure all users feel comfortable with the basic use of AV hardware we're always happy to run one-to-one, or group tutorial sessions.

Please see below for specific guidance on using the AV equipment around campus:

Please see the user guidance video below which applies to most standard teaching spaces:

If you bring your own LAPTOP, TABLET, or PHONE to connect to the AV in a teaching space please take note of the following:

  • You will need your own ADAPTERS, CONVERTERS, and CABLES which are specific to your own personal device.
    • Lightning to HDMI Converter for most Apple devices
    • USB-C to HDMI Converter for the latest Apple devices
    • HDMI cable for most modern Windows laptops
    • Some other Windows laptops may require a VGA cable, or a VGA to HDMI converter. It is best to confirm what ports are available in the room beforehand.
  • For advice on what cables or adapters you need for your device please come and see us in M103 or get in touch via:
