For Rugby World Cup 2015 (RWC2015) we were selected as one of 41 Team Bases, in conjunction with The Lensbury Club in Teddington, and played a key role in preparing the teams and players for the Tournament and beyond into the knock-out stages.

After qualifying for the quarter finals Australia selected St Mary's and The Lensbury Club as their team base. New Zealand went on to beat Australia in the RWC 2015 final.

We have an excellent understanding and experience of supporting high performance athletes. With our world-class sporting facilities and support services, international teams and athletes regularly train on campus including 10 nations during the London 2012 Olympic Games. Our involvement in RWC 2015 continued our tradition of supporting international squads and events.

Ahead of the Tournament, the Webb Ellis Cup toured the UK and Ireland for the official Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour from 10th June to the start of the Tournament on 18th September. It visit Team Bases, rugby clubs, schools, town and city centres, community events and iconic landmarks. As part of the Trophy Tour, St Mary’s hosted a community Rugby event on Thursday 10th September.
