On-site chair massage

This one-day introductory course is designed to equip you with the essential principles and practical techniques of on-site chair massage, with a focus on promoting wellbeing in the workplace and commercial application as a therapist.

It’s an ideal addition to your professional toolkit if you are already hold at least a level 3 qualification in massage. Places are kept to a minimum to ensure intimate groups with full tutor attention.

Dates and times

This one-day course will run on Saturday 7 February from 9.30am-4.30pm including one hour for lunch.

This course will take place at our 60 Waldegrave Road Campus.

The full cost is £165.

Content

During the course, you will learn how to deliver effective chair massage treatments for wellbeing in the workplace in a seated, fully clothed position, using techniques that are both relaxing and therapeutic. Topics include:

  • Principles of on site chair massage
  • Benefits of massage in workplace (in a multitude of settings including festivals, corporate, building sites etc)
  • Contraindications and safety considerations
  • Ergonomics and posture for both therapist and client
  • Massage techniques for the back, neck, shoulders, arms, and hands
  • Commercial application for the therapist
  • Setting up and using a portable massage chair.

Assessment

This course is not formally assessed. However, your tutor will provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the day to ensure safe and effective practice. Upon successful completion, you will receive a St Mary’s Certificate of Attendance.

Accreditation pending.

Entry requirements


You must hold one of the following qualifications (or an equivalent):

  • Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage
  • Level 3 Diploma in Massage.
