Penny is a senior lecturer in primary foreign languages and course lead for the BA in Primary Education with QTS.
Penny joined St Mary's University as a visiting lecturer for PGCE secondary modern languages. Previously, she taught French and German in secondary schools in Richmond and was head of department for several years.
Penny set up the primary modern languages’ elective modules on the BA programme in 2001 and introduced languages as a core component of both the BA and PGCE courses when it became a compulsory part of the National Curriculum.
She has been a governor of a local primary school for over twenty years.
