Penny is Programme Director for BA ITE Primary provision and a senior lecturer in primary foreign languages.

Penny joined St Mary's University in 1999 as visiting lecturer for PGCE secondary modern languages. Previously, she taught French and German in secondary schools in Richmond and was Head of Department for several years. 

Penny introduced the primary languages specialist course to the BA programme in 2001 and set up the exchange programme with our partner universities in France and Spain. Over the last 19 years, many students have benefited from spending 3 weeks in a French or Spanish primary school, teaching English as a foreign language as part of the Year 3 enhancement placement. 

She is a member of the ALL Special Interest Group for primary languages and has been a governor of a local primary school for over twenty years.
