Brad Platt

The lecturers in the Psychology department are extremely friendly and approachable, and strive for the best in every student. Along with their broad range of expertise in different fields of psychology, I developed a strong understanding of the theoretical and philosophical issues underlying the discipline. In addition to psychology-based skills, I also gained a variety of highly relevant skills such as, in data management, team working, report writing and how to professionally work with people, which I have made use of in both my postgraduate studies as well as in my work placements and current employment.

St Mary's staff helped to foster my confidence; so that when I graduated in 2008 with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology I was able to follow my career aspirations.  Since graduating, I have completed an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London.  At present, I work at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery as a Clinical Psychologist. I will be forever grateful for the Psychology department at St Mary's. Without their endless patience and enthusiasm, I would not be enjoying such a rewarding career.
