CVs and applications

Make yourself stand out when applying for jobs! Your CV, covering letter or application form is the employer’s first impression of you. Make sure yours makes it through the shortlisting process to get an interview. 

The Careers Service can support St Mary's students and graduates in the following ways.

  • St Mary's students and graduates now have access to our new CV Checking and Feedback system (CareerSet). Students can login to CareerSet using their St Mary's email address. Alumni should contact careers@stmarys.ac.uk to verify their graduate status and request access to CareersSet.
  • Offering you a careers appointment to give you feedback on your CV, covering letter or application form, or just having a quick chat about what you want to apply for to help get you started. 
  • Resources on writing CVs, covering letters and application forms for you to take and use as reference.
  • Our online CV course - a 20 minute module to teach you everything you need to know about CVs. Current students can access the course on our Careers and Employability Moodle pages. St Mary's graduates should contact careers@stmarys.ac.uk for access.
