Disability Support at St Mary's

St Mary's aims to provide an inclusive environment for all students, including students with additional support requirements.

We offer advice and support to our students who have requirements as a result of a disability, mental health condition, specific learning difficulty (such as dyslexia), medical condition or temporary disability, such as injury. This includes students who:

  • Have a specific learning difficulty (dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia)
  • Have mental health difficulties
  • Are on the autistic spectrum
  • Are blind or visually impaired
  • Are deaf or hearing impaired
  • Have mobility difficulties including difficulty walking, sitting or writing
  • Have hidden impairments e.g. asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, heart condition
  • Have medical conditions which affect studying (such as ME)
  • Are injured (such as broken limbs)
  • Have short-term illnesses which affect studying
