Awards for teaching excellence are available internally (Walpole prize) and externally (National Teaching Fellowship (NTF) and Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE), both sponsored by AdvanceHE. These recognition opportunities are open to any colleagues involved in student learning and support. If you are interested in applying for or nominating a colleague(s) for one of these awards listed below, please contact Dr Clare Saunders or adf@stmarys.ac.uk.

This annual prize, named after Henry Walpole, is awarded in recognition of the contribution of staff to enhancing the student learning experience by developing creative and/or innovative approaches to learning, teaching and/or assessment. It may be awarded to an individual or a team.

The aim of the prize is to recognise and reward outstanding achievement and innovation. The prize consists of a sum of £1,000. This year, the call for applications will open in February 2023 with a deadline for submissions in May. The prize winner will be announced in June.
