St Mary's Employer Events

Employer engagement is a key component of our employability strategy for our students and graduates at St Mary’s. We are keen and seek to work with a wide range of businesses and organisations across sectors including: Business, Charity, Education, and Sport.

Each academic year, the employability services team organises employer events for organisations to meet with students on campus and online. Below is a planned timetable of events for the 2025/26 academic year.

Part-Time Jobs and Volunteering Fair

This is an excellent opportunity for students to meet employers local to St Mary's, who are actively seeking St Mary's students to fill their part-time job or volunteering vacancies.

The Part-time Jobs and Volunteering Fair welcomes any organisation with part-time and/or volunteering vacancies (especially from industries such as business, sport, charity, and education).

The next Part-time Jobs and Volunteering Fair takes place on Tuesday 6 October 2026.

Law & Criminology Fair

The Law & Criminology Fair is our annual networking and panel event for students who are interested in a career in the Law and Criminology sector. Combining both a Q&A panel session and careers fair, the Law & Criminology Fair is an opportunity for students to discuss potential job opportunities with a panel of experts and guest speakers, as well as build their professional network. The event is open to all organisations within the Law sector.

This event will take place on Thursday 22 October 2026.

Business, Computing & Marketing Fair

The Business, Computing & Marketing Careers Fair allows employers from across various industries to meet St Mary’s students and recent graduates interested in a career within the business and technology sectors. This event is designed to give students the opportunity to meet a wide cross section of employers and organisations specialising in Business, Marketing, IT and the Public Sector.

This event takes place on Tuesday 26 January 2027.

Sport, Allied Health & Psychology Fair

This event forms part of the FSTHS Employability Week, which usually takes place in late February. The week includes a mixture of specialist panel sessions run by the different programme areas in FSTHS and a range of careers skills webinars to get students ready for the graduate labour market, with the main event being the Careers Fair where students can find out about current vacancies, graduate roles, internships, volunteering, and more.

The fair is open to sport and health companies, football and rugby clubs (including foundations), and sport, fitness and health related businesses, charities, and education organisations.

This event takes place on Tuesday 23 February 2027.

Secondary Teaching Fair / Primary Teaching Fair

Our Teaching Fairs consist of two annual events that seek to provide students on Education and Liberal Arts related courses an opportunity to discuss potential job opportunities with organisations, charities, schools, and educational trusts. They also offer students the chance to get advice and ask questions about working within their chosen profession, as well as build their professional network. Each event is open to all organisations within the education, humanities and arts sectors, with one focused on secondary level teaching whilst the other covers primary teaching related jobs.

The Secondary Teaching Fair takes place on Wednesday 24 March 2027, whilst the Primary Teaching Fair takes place on Monday 29 March 2027.
