Careers support that fits your day

We now offer lunchtime careers appointments and the option to request later slots so you can get careers advice at times that work around your timetable.

Careers input that matches placements

For Primary Education routes, we’ve moved and split careers sessions so they align better with your placement blocks and school recruitment timelines.

More realistic work placements

We’ve updated the Simulated Work Placement with more workplace-style tasks, more choice, weekly drop-ins and LinkedIn support so it feels closer to a real working environment.

Clearer assessment planning

We’ve introduced week-by-week assessment checklists on relevant work-based modules to make deadlines and workload planning easier to manage.

Teaching that links to your placement

We’ve strengthened the links between lectures and your placement experience, using more contemporary case studies drawn from current professional settings.

Easier to understand how grades are awarded

We’ve written and shared clearer guidance on how placement marks are awarded and how high firsts are achieved, including example work.

See what happens to your feedback

We now share “You said, we did” updates on Moodle after Staff–Student Forums and end-of-module evaluations so you can see the changes made.

More one-to-one study support

The Library now offers more 1-2-1 appointments, drop-ins, workshops and in-lecture sessions, plus informal board-gaming and craft events to help you feel at home in the space.

More of your key books online

We’ve expanded online resources, including SAGE Explorer and a bespoke Pearson e-book package, so you can access more essential books digitally.

Library guides that are easier to use

We’re revamping and expanding Library Subject Guides to cover more subjects and make it quicker to find the help and resources you need.

More consistent Moodle pages

We use a Moodle module readiness dashboard and a standard template so your modules have a more consistent layout and core information is easier to find.

Better module reading lists

We’ve introduced a reading list score for staff so resource lists are clearer and it’s easier for you to access key texts for your modules.
