A very warm welcome to St Mary's University from the Library and Digital Teams.

From free software (Microsoft Office) to Library and Hub essentials, there are a few things you just to need know.

Important: It is essential all new students set-up MFA by visiting office.com. Access to Moodle is only possible once this is completed.

As a member of St Mary’s University, you can download Microsoft Office for free.

Located at the heart of the main campus, the Library and Hub provides a range of resources to support you in your studies.

The Library provides spaces for studying and socialising, and holds our collections of physical resources. The Hub is your single point of contact for all enquiries regarding Library, IT, Student Services, Registry, Careers and more. If the Hub cannot answer your queries, they can direct you to the right department.

Facilities and Resources

  • Flexible study areas for group or individual work  
  • Quiet areas and silent study spaces  
  • Bookable rooms that are only for student use 
  • A range of PCs, Macs and loanable laptops (for use on site)  
  • Free WiFi   
  • Printing, scanning and photocopying  
  • Vending machines in the Social Zone  
  • Drop-in sessions with a subject librarian 

During Term-Time:  

  • Library is open: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week  
  • Hub is staffed: Mon-Fri 8.15am-7pm, Saturday 11am-5pm

Moodle is the University’s virtual learning environment. Use it to access your learning content, learning materials, activities, and reading lists. You’ll also use Moodle to submit your work.  

Log in to Moodle using the following format of username: REGNUM@live.stmarys.ac.uk e.g. 200204@live.stmarys.ac.uk . This will also prompt you to complete the multi-factor authentication process (so you’ll need your mobile phone with you).
