If you are a qualified experienced teacher and are looking to develop and expand your professional skills, we provide postgraduate courses that will deepen your understanding of pedagogical theory and research, as well as preparing you to move into leadership positions in schools.
Some of our MA in Education modules can be offered to groups of teachers as stand-alone accreditation opportunities.
MA in Education (Coming September 2020)
From September 2020, our existing MA in Education programmes – Leading Innovation and Change and Pedagogy - will become part of an MA in Education with a choice of pathways. The MA in Education is intended for teachers and other professionals to reflect critically on practice and develop scholarly knowledge to link theory with practice.
This MA is unique in the UK and teachers explore how the Catholic philosophy of education can be integrated with effective school leadership.
The EdD is designed for experienced professionals in educational and other relevant settings who wish to explore practice through research engagement at a high level. This is likely to lead to change at institutional level and publications as a contribution to the field.
PG Cert in Mentoring and Coaching (Coming September 2020)
Mentors in our partnership schools are offered the opportunity to gain Entry (new mentors) and Mastery (experienced mentors) level certificates in mentoring, aligned with the National Standards for school-based ITT mentors (DfE, 2016).
This certification recognises the valuable work that mentors undertake as they provide quality support and guidance to the next generation of new teachers.
