Travelling to university

There are plenty of transport options to get you to our London campus.

Bike

We offer covered bicycle racks for anyone wishing to cycle in.

Bus

Take the 33 towards Fulwell. Get off at the ‘St Mary's University’ stop, which is just outside main reception. Many other bus routes are just a short walk away on either Twickenham or Teddington high street.

The London Live Bus Countdown app can be downloaded for iPhone  or Android and includes up-to-date timetables for all London Bus routes.

Train

Strawberry Hill, Teddington and Twickenham train stations are all within walking distance of campus, with frequent trains to and from London Waterloo via Richmond or Kingston.

If you live near a London Underground station, the District Line and the Overground both terminate at Richmond. From here you can jump on a train or bus to get to campus.

Plan your journey

We know that public transport can sometimes be temperamental, so it's a good idea to have a few routes into campus that you know well incase of disruptions. Our academic staff are very aware that you might have travelled to attend teaching, and therefore are understanding when one-off incidents occur and make you late.

National Rail have apps for iPhone  and Android that include live journey information. London Underground apps are also available for iPhone and Android with maps, route planners and status updates.

Websites and apps, like National Rail and Citymapper, can help you plan different ways to travel into campus. They also keep you updated on any posible disruptions.

Car

We advise students to avoid travelling to St Mary's by car, as students are not permitted to park on site and parking in the local area is limited.
