Distance learning (online) courses
To be eligible to undertake an online course:
- you must have an offer of a place on a PGCE Teacher Training Programme with the SKE course a condition of that offer
- you must not have attended any Department for Education (DFE) funded SKE courses previously
- your teacher training course must match your SKE subject.
The eight-week programme (200 hours) is for candidates who would like to boost or refresh their knowledge of their specialist subject to GCSE level.

12 weeks (300 hours)
As a trainee on the SKE French you will have access to Babbel™ Professional for the duration of your course. This is an optional model for trainees who require assistance with vocabulary.
The enhanced GCSE course is designed for candidates needing additional support to boost or refresh they subject knowledge to GCSE.

- KS2 MFL
- starting KS3 MFL
- moving from KS3 to KS4 MFL
- a selection of virtual lessons in MFL.
