Chemistry subject knowledge enhancement course

We offer an range of online Chemistry subject knowledge enhancement courses.

Distance learning (online) courses

To be eligible to undertake an online course:

  • you must have an offer of a place on a PGCE Teacher Training Programme with the SKE course a condition of that offer
  • you must not have attended any Department for Education (DFE) funded SKE courses previously
  • your teacher training course must match your SKE subject.

The eight-week programme (200 hours) is for candidates who would like to boost or refresh their knowledge of their specialist subject to GCSE level.

  • Energy Changes in Chemistry
  • The Rate and Extent of Chemical Change
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Chemical Analysis

  • GCSE Practical Chemistry.

12 weeks (300 hours)

The enhanced GCSE course is designed for candidates needing additional support to boost or refresh they subject knowledge to GCSE.
