Laura Minogue, Senior lecturer in academic practice

I first joined St Mary’s as a visiting lecturer in the Institute of Education in 2013. I taught on the PGCE primary and secondary and BA Initial Teacher Education for Modern Foreign Languages (French and Italian). I then became a learning development lecturer working with students and staff to develop academic and assessment literacy. In March 2019 I moved into my current post where I am part of the Academic Professional Development team located in CTESS.

I lead the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice for new lecturers and the St Mary’s HEA Fellowships Programme. My team and I organise the annual Festival of Learning & Teaching, Academic Staff Induction, and run CPD for academics on a range of topics. I have two teenage children and am experienced in juggling work, family, and study.

For my own development, I am currently working on a professional doctorate (EdD) in the Institute of Education. I can offer mentoring support in the following areas: Aurora women’s development programme, women’s career development.
