Our housekeeping team is committed to maintaining the standard of cleanliness and hygiene across our estate but we do need your help to maintain standards. Cleaning of bedrooms is the responsibility of students and we provide appropriate cleaning aids to help with this.
En-suite bathrooms are cleaned weekly by our team at a set time and day that you will be notified of in advance.
Shared bathrooms are cleaned each weekday, Monday to Friday, except bank holidays.
What you can expect from the University
- We will clean your communal spaces on a daily basis and empty the bin from your room.
- We will give you notice of when we are due to clean your en-suite.
- We will clean your en-suite and offer advice on the cleaning of your room.
- We will access the room to clean en-suites at a reasonable hour to ensure your sleep is not disturbed.
What we need you to do
- We need to you keep the general cleaning of your room up to a minimum standard so that it doesn’t become a hazard to yourself or others.
- We need you to allow regular access to rooms, at the arranged time, to be able to undertake ‘top up’ cleaning of your en-suite.
- We need you to have decluttered your room at time of cleaning access to ensure the cleaning can be carried out without hazard to the cleaning staff.
- When your bin is full, please leave the bin bag outside your door for our team to remove. Please put food waste in the bins in the kitchen.
- We would be grateful if you would do your washing up and clear your things from kitchen surfaces to allow the cleaners to do their job.
