Creative Production

BA Creative Production is a two year 'fast track' programme where you will live the full degree experience in six trimesters over two years. This rigorous training will give you opportunities to develop all the skills you would need in a career in creative production.

Creative and Professional Writing

Our goal on the St Mary’s Creative and Professional Writing programme is threefold:

  • to help students develop into the writers they want to be
  • to hone the core writing skills that will give them an entry into jobs marketplace in the creative and many other industries
  • to give them a general introduction to the diverse publishing world and literary scene in the UK and beyond

English Literature

Our English team at St Mary’s boasts strong expertise in the interconnections between literary texts and their social, historical, political and national contexts. This is reflected in the modules that we offer, which allow you to interrogate, alongside the texts themselves, the intricate and fascinating cultural backdrops that are informing what we read.

History

On our History degree you'll immerse yourself in histories of Britian, Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and America, ranging from the medieval period to the present day. You will study the rise and fall of states, the causes of wars and revolutions, and social and political movements.

Liberal Arts

On this degree you will explore the Arts and Humanities in an interdisciplinary programme, studying a broad range of subjects. This includes aspects of History, English, Film, Creative Writing, Theology and Politics.

Liberal Arts (Accelerated)

This version of the Liberal Arts degree adopts a three-term per year structure, which means that you complete a normal 3 year BA honours degree in just 2 years. The third term runs from June to July at our Liberal Arts Summer School.

Theology, Religion and Ethics

Our degree in Theology, Religion, and Ethics combines contemporary debates with ancient disciplines. Along with our experts, you will read seminal writers and thinkers of centuries-old traditions, pick up critical views of contemporary world issues, and examine the cultural appropriation of religious ideas and imagery.
